| no offense to kazoo but I think it is time for someone else to be the new owner of that thread. someone that can keep the thread up to date (listing new rejected suggestions etc). because someone really should add "iPhone app" under rejected suggestions. another thing, either emphasize using the suggestion discussion thread or remove the discussion part entirely leaving only the lists. I know its pretty hypocritical of me since I've made suggestions outside of the thread but really you can already get some mod and basiler in-put if you make your own thread in the site section. probably the main reason why the thread was made was to reduce spam. but I think the lists of rejected/approved suggestions could already help reduce spam. if a rejected suggestion is ever brought up again a mod could post a link to the "List of rejected and approved suggestions thread" and lock the thread. following the above, there should be a brief/more specific explanation why the suggestion was rejected/approved. example: • Buying auctions - underuse and abuse. To be more specific, 0.03% of Basil auctions were buying auctions on average [real stat, straight from MrB, not a joke or typo] and people used em to do stuff like "B>ilbis 1k". (taken from the FAQ. not so brief but you get the idea) anyone up for it? or feel free to disagree but please explain why |

| if you want. but its a huge responsibility imo. you'd have to be using the site section regularly to be in most suggestion threads made/or reading the suggestion discussion thread regularly to update the lists. you'd also need to get the community's thought on whether the idea should be rejected or approved meaning reading through pages of comments. or have a good "sense" (can't really explain it) if a suggestion obviously won't be implemented and for adding the small/brief reasons I mentioned |

It would probably require a lot of time as well, and I'm not sure if I could make enough time for it, so maybe I would not be the best for the job. |

| I'd say get rid of the suggestion thread and make a locked thread of listed suggestions. |

Especially since I am now(currently) the only regular of the Site section. I feel so alone in this section. T_T Luckily for me, I don't want to maintain any such thread. Ot: I highly recommend with going with mods only. A normal user would not be suffice. This way it wouldn't be influenced as badly. |

| I'm starting to visit this section regularly, but I agree that it should be a moderator-regulated thread only. |
Nice to know you missed me =3 I honestly think suggestions belong in thier own thread. 1. Everyone does it anyway 2. It's difficult to keep track of individual suggestions in a thread that large 3. Keeping track of what is still being discussed/is over with is also an issue in a large thread. |

| Being able to talk to Mr. B really makes maintaining the thread possible; it'd have to be a mod. |

| agreed that it should be a mod. now what about the idea of the thread just being a list? I agree with Alalme's 3 points like I said on my thread post, a mod can just link the list if an idea is ever brought up again and lock the thread with a brief reason next to each rejected suggestion • Buying auctions - underuse and abused. |

| Seeing as I am the original author of the thread I guess I should post.
malapo : another thing, either emphasize using the suggestion discussion thread or remove the discussion part entirely leaving only the lists.
In the beginning there was thread after thread being posted in the site section, relaying the same suggestions over and over. At the time moderators were pointing the thread starters to send in reports of the suggestions instead. That in turn led to flooding MrB with suggestion after suggestion. I originally created with the intent to outline every suggestions that has been up prior, welcome new suggestions via that thread or separate ones, and leave fresh suggestions up for discussion. Through communicating with B it was an efficient way to eliminate any repeated suggestions, or at least direct them to the discussion thread. Yes, new bright suggestions are much better represented in their own thread. However, having them detailed and further discussed in the aforementioned sticky creates more notice and promise, and also is easier to relay on to administration. In other words, members weren't just making threads and being forgotten about, the suggestions were put up front to be seriously discussed further.
malapo : following the above, there should be a brief/more specific explanation why the suggestion was rejected/approved. example: • Buying auctions - underuse and abuse. To be more specific, 0.03% of Basil auctions were buying auctions on average [real stat, straight from MrB, not a joke or typo] and people used em to do stuff like "B>ilbis 1k". (taken from the FAQ. not so brief but you get the idea)
I agree totally. Initially that's how it was planned out, I was listing the pros and cons of each suggestion currently active, giving as much detail received from MrB and the community. At the time though I'd go to bed and wake up with 5 more pages, so it quickly turned into a frantic rush just to compile everything. Now that it's slowed (and almost forgotten about), it would be wise to expand the thread.
malapo : anyone up for it? or feel free to disagree but please explain why
I AM back actively on the forums, though my moderator title abandoned and am still lurking around quietly trying to avoid the old infamy, I do like to help out where applicable. This was my thread, as well as others that have been taken over by willing people, and if it was requested that I volunteer my time here hel |
