Personally I really don't like those threads where people talk about gays. I'm not manly in any sense, and I am a proud gay man, but reading continuously " they can do whatever they like as long as it doesn't mess up my life" "there's nothing wrong with being gay" "I like shopping with them" and all of that other stuff makes it seem like gay people aren't just people. I know that some people may say I need to be 'proud' or whatever, but I just don't see a reason to showcase my sexual orientation. I'm pretty sure people don't talk about how straight they are and have gays ask them when they told their parents they were straight and everything else. As much as I do appreciate the support, why is there any need to defend it let alone talk about it when gays don't do the same to straight people? Am I the only one who feels this way? Just wondering.

Pretty much how I feel. I don't have a problem talking about my orientation, it's just I see absolutely no need to pull it out of nowhere to be discussed. Like there's this idea that people shouldn't care about sexual orientation when just hanging around with people or becoming friends, so why do people feel the need to make it matter so much we have to talk about it? e: Wow that came out nothing like what I thought and it makes no sense, but whatever.
