well apparently in one of these threads there was a screenshot of nexon saying they'll release non-nx methods sometime in the future but who can tell how far ahead it is?

You can max it even without the nexon skill books for magic guard. It'll just be maxed at 5 meaning you can't add anymore sps into it. If you want it to be maxed at 20 instead of 5 you need the skillbook. It's pretty self-explanatory and instead of making a thread on such a simple thing you could have read any of the 10+ magic guard/evan threads or went into cs and read the description of the skillbook...

you mean you CAN'T get it outside the cashshop ? if so i am gonna quit my Evan - this money greed by Nexon is WELL over the limit here ! i mean this is well above and beyond to anything! you can't play a magician without Magic Guard ! you will be stuck forever in the weak monsters - and i WILL NOT ! NOT IN A MILLION YEARS will buy it for NX they say FREE TO PLAY - that means that you CAN play but the NX gives you an advantage - if they resort to charging for playing a char. like making it useless without paying for skillbooks - i am outta here there is a limit to everything ! i guess that's why they put in the bottom that thing that says something like "Startin an Evan ? get you NX today...." seriously if they start charging for playing (and buy mastery books otherwise you can't do anything with the char) so it is like a Shareware - test it before you buy it - and i will choose NOT to.

i would rather have both options. Got the nx .. buy the mastery books. Dont got no nx ... go hunt down a monster for xxxx amount of time. and the book is only 2 bucks. thats like ... what ... a donut? a small coffee? couple of bread rolls etc.

Caution! use the mastery book at lv 40 when you have all the sp to MAX it. i only have lv 18 guard because i used it at lv 39 instead. i guess they expect me 2 buy another one to get it maxed -_-
