Is it weird that my dad plays videogames?

So yesterday my friend brought his wii over and we were playing some Mario Kart Wii, and my dad walked in when he got home from work and was like "Oh sweet the new Mario Kart." So I told him he could play if he wanted to, and he played for a couple races and left. For some reason my friend just thought it was the weirdest thing in the world that my dad (who is almost 50 years old) still plays video games. Also my dad kicked me and my friend's asses.

My dad did that once too. Except, he was on the xBox playing a race game with the wheel and failed miserably. So, I don't think it's weird. Maybe your friend thought it was weird because he owned you.

I think a lot of people would like to have their dad's be pro at video games. I can just see it - him yelling into the mic during a match of Halo after owning you.

No it isn't weird at all. My teacher comes and asks me how to beat certain games and he is 50 too or atleast I think he is.

My dad's almost as good as I am at Call of Duty. :P He's 1 prestige below me, probably ranking up each night to close the gap. D:< He doesn't use the Mic much since the ear piece broke (PS3) and he doesn't have as many friends on his friends list as me, but he enjoys games. We kicked ass on Zombies Ate My Neighbors back in the day, but we tried a few weeks ago and couldn't remember the controls on our Genesis. He was a major Dreamcast gamer before I broke it. And my neighbor's dad holds the tops scores on all Wii Sports/Resots games they have... and that's a lot. He and his wife play with our other neighbors. :P I can't beat him in Wii Bowling.
