I went to see this movie today with my mom and little sister. i really thought it was good and idk why but i have this really weird depressed feeling right now. i think its because of the whole girlfriend boyfriend thing and how he attaches his self to the dragon, as i had my first serious relationship (not serious but we had been good friends for a long time and had really strong feelings for eachother) with a girl awhile with ago and i just feel like this is the type of movie that we would go see and watch and it made me sad that i couldn't hold her or hold her hand while watching, but i am still young (14 and a freshman in highschool) and i know the feelings about her will stop with the next girlfriend. it might also be the fact that his father wasnt proud of him and that he ends up feeling proud and honored to have this kid as a son, as in right now i am going through that stage where a kid wants to seperate hisself from his parents and start to be an independent person. him and i also have very different views politically and religiuosly (i belive in the same religion i just have different concepts than that of a conservitave christain and he wants me to belive everything he wants me to belive). I also belive myself to be a very intelligent and understanding induvidual. even though i may not experienced life to the fullest i can still find things to relate to when people go through hardships. anyway back on topic... the movie was overall really good in my opinion and if you're wondering if you should see it well, you should. it also relates to evans somewhat so if you are going to make an evan for the fun aspect and not the glasses thats another reason to see it. Also, please dont come on here and tell me that im just a kid and that i should keep my thoughts to myself or something like that. reason i am stating this is because there are alot of ignorant people out there that have no other better thing to do than to put down people on an online fourm. and also just writing this helped me feel better because i know that there will be people that read this and that they might relate to me in a certian way, shape or form. please feel free to post any thoughts or concerns but please dont flame. THANKS!

Also thought the movie was really good and had more emotion and depth than I was expecting. The story about tension between the son and father is pretty common (Hero's Journey and all) but yeah, it's something that a lot of young people will connect with and enjoy. Thought the ending was pretty surprising/refreshing ending it on such a depressing note, but wrapped up pretty nicely.

also something i've been thinking about, if its the foot that he used to change the tails position, how does he use it now because before he used his ankle to pivot the switch but know he cant pivit it anymore without an ankle o_O

I read the book It was really good actually Ended up reading the sequels too, but that was a long time ago.

you relate your ex-girlfriend as a dragon, people might think she is different or dangerous but you still love her. as time goes on you two have grown as you learned from her and her from you. but as your dragon developed and matured, your ideas clashed with hers and your relationship was strained because of that and ultimately ended. by now youre coming of age where you seek independence from your parents but you are still a boy. , a boy without a dragon. you think that the next dragon will make you forget about your first relationship.. - the movie was ok

@pigmanbear (its ManBearPig im being super cereal guys!) I actually realted her to the girl that the boy liked. and she loved him back because of who he was and not because of his looks or abilitys not because im a looser or anything but just because when i comes to love storys and such i like to be able to relate to that. and now that i cant relate to that physically, i have to reach into my mind and think back to the times that i did do things with her and how i did "love" her. its not because she's special or anything in particular, its just the fact that i had to relate myself to something so that i felt involved in the movie. and it did work. do you understand what i'm trying to say?
