How is leveling hard?

It took me 3 months to get to level 72, but I did not see it difficult to get to that level. Most people I see say: grinding is hard! It only takes a long time, but it is not difficult. All you are really doing is killing monsters that do not have a chance against you (if you are prepared) for hours until you finally level. How is that hard? If the enemy DID stand a chance against you if you were prepared, you would not be grinding on it. Sometimes (mostly if you are a ranged or magician class) you are just standing in one place and pressing/holding down one button with an occasional other button presses. MP3 is a perfect example of this. The only "difficult" part of this game I find in the bosses, some of them require you to do something out of the ordinary and mix in other attacks, also try to dodge their attacks, and use buffs and if you are a bishop, keep your partymembers alive. Maplestory is probably the easiest game I have played, ever. Now if you do find grinding difficult and think leveling will take you forever, this is one thing you should think: As long as I am killing things at the rate I should be, I will level. That philosophy helped me get motivated when I was feeling unmotivated. This is just what I think about grinding and leveling. Hell levels may be only a certain time when leveling is just really slow, NOT hard. Also, post some philosophys that you used to motivate yourself.

Record for me, got my Outlaw to lvl 71 in under 2 weeks. ^__^ No 2x, just mass free wins in CPQ1 and 2. Grinding is hard, as it refers to training on monsters for a long period of time to gain experience points. I guess you could argue, depending on how long the session is for, but if I go on a 3 hour grind session on 1x, it's hard for me. The EXP bar fills slowly, repeating the exact same thing for such a period of time can get boring. :S especially at newts......... I HATE IT THERE

Every time you kill something you fail experience; by that logic you will eventually level. Anyway, leveling must be hard because there's so many leechers. "lvling is tooooo haaaard. I need someone to kill for me"

1-72 in three months is not hard at all. 80% a day including the earlier levels that hardly take any time at all? You haven't gotten to the difficult part of training. Affording pots, getting hit by something that'll kill you in 2 hits (pray you don't lag or you lose 10% which is 8mil exp for me), finding partners.. etc. Get to something higher, then give your example about training being easy. You're still in the PQing levels.

its not really hard, its more tedious. I hated grinding at mp3 till lvl 78 x.x but i didnt know jack then (not the npc) the difficulty is also connected to the map type, and the monsters attack, speed, and skills. The typhon map is a series of small platforms, not parallel to any other platform for the most of the map. The monsters are flying, have a moderate speed, and have a skill to blow you off the map. im not complaining, its not too hard for me, but mainly, it depends on the players control and experience.

For some players, it might be agony. It's a matter of opinion, therefore, leveling can be hard. Some philosophies that I used to motivate myself. However, I wouldn't call the ones you listed, nor mine, philosophies. "If somebody decides to get dirt on you, get dirt on them" Now that I think about it, my Dad taught me that one.. "Never respect anyone if they don't respect you"

Grinding is not hard, 3 months =/= hard. 3 months = Long + Patience. I used to think grinding was difficult, c'mon really? For me it was standing in one spot spamming a single attack! I just played other characters and classes, hung out with friends, got hacked once, and quit for a week. Hard is something that makes you TRY to get something done, instead of spamming an attack or moving around and spamming an attack (and pots). So in case you still do not understand what hard is, I will use one more not-equal-to sign to show you what it is NOT in maplestory. Boring =/= Hard in maplestory.

This game is made for a younger generation so difficulty is not the problem. It's getting my lazy arse to sit at a computer for multiple hours pressing my attack key.
