(I put *'s in the thread title, but they didn't show up, and now it doesn't make any sense :l ) Have you ever told a joke about a controversial subject, and then someone who heard/saw the joke said that someone close to them was in one way or another affected by the subject?

I did that to a friend without thinking. "This lunch tastes like roadkill!" "Your mom is roadkill" something like that. His mom had actually suicided in jail. I felt SO bad.

Yeah... I felt like a..donkeyhole. I was talking to some stranger at school, 6th grade. just like socializing making new friends. I was all like "Dude, I am your father" (with the vader voice...) and his face just changes, and looks straight at me and says "My dad died a few months ago...His ashes are next to my grandfathers" and he looked all sad... I was like "omg..."
