Dear NAMS'ers and fellow EMS'ers

This is a public forum, for anyone to read, write and share their thoughts of opinions regardless of which version of Maple Story they play, and even for those who do not play. And with great power comes big responsibilites. To act properly, not insult others and respect other opinions. While we have freedom of speech it is always in contra to what can be interpreted as offensive. We often ignore that responsibility, or let someone else carry that burden. We often come with "arguments" like "You said this, you did that", and automatically, we have taken away the responsibility from our shoulder. Thinking that if others don't behave, there is no need for me to do that either. That's wrong. Too often are we being judged for what we have done and said in the past, and it is haunting us like bad weather. The rain drops may still be there, but a new post is a new day. To respond to a person differently because of what they have said in the past prevents us from getting to know the person. With all that said, what is the point I am really trying to make? That we need an attitude change. Not just players from NAMS, not just players from EMS, all of us that post here and contribute to the bad aura. While often refered to as "flaming", it's in my opinion pointless arguing. It's not pleasant for anyone to come in here and see the pages and pages of "NAMS versus EMS" fighting. Some may enjoy it, but I sincerely doubt that is many. I plead to you, NAMS'ers, have respect for our community. We are our own version of Maple Story. We follow our own pattern and get content in a different order. Why it would bother you, why it would matter to you, I have no answers to. I can only think of jealousy, but I see no reason why a player from a server with far more content would be jealous of a little server like EMS? It is absolutely pointless to constantly post things like: * You can't get this without that. * You are "effed" up if get this before that. * EMS staff are stupid. It feels like an echo here sometimes! Anyone is free to come in here and discuss about EMS, what they think of it. But you can get your point showed without flaming. Instead of coming and like "you guys are really stupid for getting this" you can post "I wonder why you get this, it's really odd imo", and voila, you have managed to make the same point, without saying anything that can be interpreted as insulting. But like I have said before in this forum, this is a two road issue. What we say, and how we respond to what others say. There is no fire without gas. That's why I openly admit that this is not a specific person or groups fault, but all of us. With that wall of text, I'd like to suggest we get off to a new start. I don't know whether this thread will serve of any use, or if it will turn into another flame topic, but that's not the intention. Well put, we all have to contribute to the atmosphere and make a change. All the bickering, fighting, arguing has to come to a halt since it would get out of hand. Am happy to discuss any topic if it is only under a civilized tone. We are to treat one another how we want to be treated ourselves. There is always room for discussing different point of views and topics with the necessary amount of respect. I'm Jeffrey and played eMS since February last year and enjoy my stay. gMS has been as enjoying but feel more at home in eMS where I have met my wonderful girlfriend.

I agree with the majority of this thread, although I do feel the title is a bit unnecessary. Simply because this can just apply to all Maplers; Because regardless of content, we're all playing the same game, Yes? Although, I haven't really noticed any thing along the lines of NAMS > EMS, but hey if it's there it's good to point out and hopefully end any...er...problems between the two? Although why there are any problems I simply don't get! Anyways, excellent post. I've been playing GMS off and on since 2005. I simply adore it here.

And I don't like that it is called global when it is only meant for Americans, Canadians and Australians.

[/quote] I can play KMS and i am playing it, doesnt make it Danish+Korean MS. The server is meant for the north american continent, Aussies are using it tho. Not flaming either :P just making a point.

Well, since the "designations" for the server are really pretty moot. Shouldn't we just refer to it by what the population of that server feels comfortable with? Sounds like a decent comprise. This thread is getting super off topic though, lmao.
