Japanese Justification for Pearl Harbor

Hi guys! Tomorrow my class is gonna hold a debate over the Japanese justification for Pearl Harbor. My group is in charge of going against the whole attack, while another group is justifying the attack on Pearl Harbor. I expect the group justifying the attack saying something in these lines, "US provoked Japan by making countries set trade embargos against Japan, etc...." What are some things you guys would say to go against the attack on Pearl Harbor? Thanks!

They saw the mass of planes heading towards them, but they didn't do anything about it because they were expecting a bunch of new planes from somewhere I forgot.

The Japanese planned to cripple the American Pacific Fleet, but then they didn't expect the Americans to rebuild their fleet so quickly, so their plan backfired. I would say to go against the attack that the Japanese deceived the U.S. by false talks of peace days beforehand.

well i dont have anything constructive to add but i saw the movie pearl harbor even though it was alove story, it was pretty epic and breathtaking. and uh against the attack.. i can't think of anything.
