| At the time of writing this, I am a level 82 Broa sword White Knight. In order to fully understand this build you should read the entire post (I know its long), but please do before giving suggestions. However, once you have read it, PLEASE feel free to give advice, criticism, or any questions about the idea. So I was thinking today and was hit with an idea. There arent a whole lot of PageWhite Knight skill build guides out there. There are only two on Basil and as far as I know, they are fairly aged. In fact, the guide I had been using (not on Basil) told me the best training place for 75-95 was Yeti and Pepe. Now I know not to do that, but thinking about it, a lot of new areas have come out recently. I looked back at what I had trained on and where I planned to go in the future. It certainly appears to me that almost all builds currently out, are pretty outdated. So this is my proposed new PageWhite Knight skill build with an explanation at the bottom. Page 30. Weapon 1 Mastery +1 31. Weapon 1 Mastery +3 32. Weapon 1 Mastery +1 and Weapon 1 Booster +2 33. Weapon 1 Booster +3 34. Weapon 1 Booster +1 and Weapon 1 Mastery +2 35. Weapon 1 Mastery +3 36. Weapon 2 Booster +3 55. Weapon 2 Booster +2 and Weapon 2 Mastery +1 56. Weapon 2 Mastery +3 57. Weapon 2 Mastery +3 58. Weapon 2 Mastery +3 59. Weapon 2 Mastery +3 60. Weapon 2 Mastery +1 and Weapon 2 Booster +2 61. Weapon 2 Booster +2 and Threaten +1 62. Threaten +3 63. Threaten +3 64. Threaten +3 65. Threaten +3 66. Threaten +3 67. Threaten +1 and Weapon (final) Booster +2 68. Weapon (final) Booster +3 69. Weapon (final) Booster +3 70. Weapon (final) Booster +2 and Weapon (final) Mastery +1 Explanation Well, the main point in this build is that people have done some math and it appears that Final Attack lowers your DPM while using slash blast. Most people know that mobbing is a warriors primary training method and so Final Attack seems to be a fairly poor choice, or at least not worth 30 of your skill points. The other primary factor in this build (related to the lack of Final Attack) is that this is a hybrid build. When using this, one would choose a final weapon and a secondary weapon. Either one will work in either place, Blunt Weapon or Sword, that is up to you. This would allow one to use different weapons when it is most beneficial for you, based on training locations or weapons. For example, one would potentially be able to use the Morningstar at level 80, which is an excellent Blunt Weapon, better than sword options at that level, but then possibly use the very good Stonetooth Sword at level 100. | One problem with your build is that it will become irrelevant with the balance patch. Fire-first will be the absolute way to go once it's 140% maxed. For reference, stacking Ice and Lightning would give you 137%, which is less power for ten more levels. With the exception of Red Wyverns, every monster you mentioned would take more damage from Fire + Lightning. Honestly, though, there is no real reason to go Hybrid. It doesn't benefit you in the slightest. The only case in which it could is if you could max FA on one weapon while having Threaten and Powerguard. I'm pretty sure this isn't possible. You mention that the 'fault' of the build is having to choose your weapon by level 80... well, most Pages do that at level 30. Is there a reason you suggest maxing Holy Charge on your secondary weapon? Because this is just one of many questions this build creates but does not answer. Frankly, I find more probable use in Iron Body and Shield Mastery if you're going FA-less. |

|
MeloCan : End Skills - Weapon 1 Mastery - 20 (max) Weapon 2 Mastery - 19 Weapon 1 Booster - 20 (max) Weapon 2 Booster - 10 Threaten 20 - (max) Powerguard - 30 (max)
If I recall correctly, you get a total of 120 SP from 30 - 70, don't forget that single SP point received after your second job advancement. Minor issue, just proof reading your guide!
MeloCan : With regards to the balance patch, I tried to incorporate benefits of the balance patch into this guide when necessary. No points are taken out of Threaten and lightening charge is utilized more often. For example, one could use Lightening and Ice charge at Galloperas, freezing while dealing high damage. This is why I suggest the first time you max lightening charge you do it with your final weapon. This ability to combine charges, along with Lightening charges higher damage increase (I believe) makes it more beneficial than fire charge and a guide based around it. The reason I make sure to give Lightening Charge to the secondary weapon is that in the 4th job I suggest maxing Holy Charge for the secondary weapon (unsure how this would affect your other 4th job skills) at some point, simply for the ability to switch when you want in 4th job. Having holy and lightening charge will allow you to stack them and still be equally powerful with your secondary weapon. Why do I not have Fire or Ice Charge for the secondary weapon? If these were to be added, one would need to take away from your end-game weapons charges. This is NOT advised as one will always want the full range of charges for higher levels with new training areas, bosses, etc. So whats wrong with this build? There are a few things I would like to point out about this build. The previously mentioned point on maxing Holy Charge for the secondary weapon. This may cause you to be unable to max a 4th job skill. (Im not sure and I will need a 4th jobbers advice) This build would also force you to choose which weapon type will be your end-game weapon type (a big decision) at atleast level 80, possibly earlier. This is a difficult choice to make so early and may be a very hard one to make for a beginning player.
I like how much thought and effort you put into this guide, one of the better written 'Hybrid' builds I have seen. That being said, I think your last paragraph here implicitly sums up the fact (and in my own personal opinion as well) that there is no real benefit in going Hybrid for this class. In fact, I wouldn't even call this a true Hybrid build, more like a 'In order to avoid FA, I am going to do a half job at a Hybrid build because there are no other worthwhile skills I can dump my points in'. :P I say this because I truly don't believe this class was ever made to wield both BWs and Swords efficiently. For example, referring to the new updates, as you mentioned, lightning will be stackable with the other charges, but you will only have Lightning with what you call your 'final' weapon in your g |

| Yeah, Viaje put it into words I couldn't really say, the whole idea of it being hybrid is to best use points not put into FA. And I read after writing this that fire charge will be made stronger than lightening and that dual stacking =/= dual elemental advantage. So in reality, this whole build would just be a fun way to have both weapons and not totally ruin your character. I can live with that, that's all I needed to hear. thanks |
