Evans and How to Train a Train your Dragon!

Hi I have been thinking about something recently. So thought i would share and get some of your thoughts on the subject. The movie How to train your Dragon come out on Friday and well we all know that Nexon is releasing Evans. Do you think that Nexon was smart enough to figrue out that this would make a great release time for Evans here in North America or was it just lucky on Nexon's part? Seriously everytime I see the commercials for this movie it makes me think about Evans, lmao. Even though I was and am not planning on making one, when ever I see the commercial makes me think maybe I should. So discuss Nexons Lucky or Nexon so planned this. Nexon didn't plan this. To lazy to explain. Just think about Nexon and other maplestory versions on the order of the new classes.

[/quote] I know about the order and stuff but you have to admit this release was preety quick compared to other releases. Usally we get stuff 6+ Months after. In Evans case this is preety uber quick for us to get it. Once I seen these commercials and the movie comming out I thought, Dam, maybe just maybe this is why they are comming so quick. We are doing stuff in order just preety quick compared to other stuff!

Yeah, but I recall seeing "How to train your Dragon" children books a month before hand. They only started playing the Movie clips on TV for the passed week. GMS already knew we were supposed to get Evan long before this movie was played on air.

[/quote] Actually you saying you noticed books a month ago would only mean it makes more sense for a "pushed up" release date. Evans were announced as comming a few weeks back and have yet to have an official relase date (Correct me if I am wrong cant find anything on Webiste). This leads me to belive they are 'pushing' the date quicker as a official release date for Evans had not been givin. If Nexon wanted a release in March, for Evan it would have been better on Spring break to take advantage of peoples holidays. Just thinking. I oviously belive Nexon has pushed the date to be quicker because of this movie but it just may be luck!

I think the release of this movie may have got us or is getting us Evan quicker is all. Free Marketing and so goes hand and hand with the movie, lol. I want to watch this movie but will probably wait till it on Disk as I dont think I wnat to spend the 20 bucks to go to it (Entrance and food of course xD) Edit: @ Above I know ah, Nexon is actually a charity and doing this for the good of the people. Thats why you can play for free they dotn think about making money....wait, lol

But the way you're saying it. I guess MMORPGs are all based on Dungeons and dragons or The Hobbit & Lord of the rings books by Tolkien.

[/quote] ah...lol glad you skimmed what i wrote, I said I wasnt saying that I belevied Evan was created because of the books. Please re-read my statement or the quote. As for the D&D reference actually there are alot of things that are inspired by differant things. D&D for example was inspired by Reenacting groups and adding a twist but really is not relvent here, althought would be a great chat topic, lol.

It would definatly be a good topic talking about games and what influnced them or how we think they may have been influnced. Maplestory for example does remind me a bit of D&D because of the classes but is like a pimped up Mario brothers kinda thing, lol. Thanks for hte link BTW.
