My parents won't let me hang out with my friends

Whenever a friend invites me to her house, my parents always say the same answer: No. I don't get why they won't let me. I won't do anything bad, I'm not a badass-type of person. I can't even go with a group of friends to the mall. :P I find this very unfair... I have like zero social life lol. Yeah, so my friend asked me if I could sleep over this weekend. Maybe I can convince my parents that I should be able to go? Suggestions, basil? Hmm, maybe it's just Asian parents..I dunno.

My parents used to be against me going out, now I just go out whever. Back then I'd go out when no one was home, but I would always leave a note saying where I went and who I was with. I guess that convinced to my parents I was responsible for myself that like yeah. lool.

Well, act mature around them. If they dont trust you, tell them to drop you off and chat with their parents if they're that scared for their little girl :] My parents just say "sure". Maybe its because Im a guy and they trust me.(No sexist joke intended)

My girlfriends parents are like that. She's 15 I'm 14. They thought I was "playing" their daughter. I then ran the 5 miles to her house and they decided that I wasn't that bad. I don't know how that helps you but maybe if you show them you won't do anything wrong. Like if you tell them that they can come talk to their parents and find out what they're like.

Nearly all asian parents are like this. Same age as you and never went to somebody's house,no sleepovers ever. Only friend's house I went to was a guy who used to live 3houses away. He was nerdy so my parents allowed for me to visit his house.

Hah, you Americans/Asians and your funny ways. My folks were always cool with me going out, my curfew at the age of 13-14 was always 10pm and we sometimes got to push it, this being on the streets and not in a house. Hell, last year my Dad didn't even care when I went to randomly live with some guy he didn't even know. Not to mention I'm rarely in the house now (That being said I am 19, but it was always the same). My Dad even used to buy me booze when I was 14 and had friends over. :D

My parents do the same... well mostly my mom. It's like, I have to plan ahead what time I'll be done, and I just hate that... Except it gets easier as you grow up more I guess. Just slowly try to make them give you more freedom, bits at a time

I'm glad my asian mom lets me go to sleepovers pretty much everytime. I feel really bad for you, I hope when the next time comes around, you can convince them to let you go. and @Vuxrian, I doubt her mom was at sleepovers if she grew up somewhere in Asia.
