i have a level 47 spearman which i am currently raising PA build, it has 19 mastery, 6 booster (3 iron wall and 24 hb) i heard that spear build is better. is it? should i continue polearm build, make a new one spear build or make it hybrid? if hybrid, what is the build for that?

Make it hybrid. End up with... max Spear and PA mastery max spear and PA booster Max HB. Then some leftover points that you can throw anywhere but FA.

ok, but do you know which order i should go in? do i finish HB then go onto spear mastery, PA booster then spear booster or is it not like that?

[/quote] Finish off hb since you are close After that I would go for PA booster Finish with Spear mastery then spear booster Use the remainder of your points on almost anything but FA, only thing worse then Max Fa is low lvl FA

alright thanks, i have a 91/6 karstan in my inv. should i use that or buy cheap spear scrolls and find a (rarer) lvl 64 maple spear (idk the name)?

[/quote] maple soul spear id use the karstan, it can last you a long while, well past the point that using a soul spear is a good option

Yeah, the Karstan. It will do well for you all through 2nd job, and probably into 3rd.

i dont know, since im going hybrid ill get a spear and a pole. is it worth getting a soul spear to interchange with the karstan is it worth getting a better karstan because a 100%d one gives 92/3 and mine is 91/6

You dont need both if you dont plan on using both, only reason id equip a spear before like 130 is to boss or fool around with crusher. Waiting it out til atleast lvl 85 for a sky ski will save you some money. Considering you will be maxing PA fury til lvl 80 anyway you won't even have enough points in crusher to make it useful til about lvl 87 or 88 The difference between an ave 100%'d karstan and yours is very minor, the str makes up most of the difference -- only worth upgrading if you can do a significant upgrade imo, something like 96+

The reason why you are using a Polearm is because of the damage output on multiple monsters compared to a relatively low amount of monsters that Crusher can hit. This being said, Fury (being the best damage option for a PA) while hitting multiple monsters with a fast paced swing, is more efficient than Crusher (being the best damage option for a Spear) while hitting half the number of monster and a slow stab. After all that stuff sinks in, and studying on what monsters are best to train on. You realize that the polearm is better due to the fact that the maps you would train on have more monsters, and are a place where Crusher is unsuited for. Fury (Swing) > Crusher (Stab) for training on massive amount of mobs; PA Fury does more damage than Spear Fury. You won't need a spear for training until 130.
