Hey everyone, I'm currently a lv106 cb and was thinking about converting to a str Shad at 120 in order to use the d khanjar. I've been wondering how my damage will be affected if I put up str to convert. I current have around 35 str with equips and a d khanjar requires 75? If I put up str to use it how much atk should the d khanjar have to enefit my damage? Plus, my shield right now is 10 atk. I'm not quite sure of I should stay luk or convert to str. Someone please give me some advice. Ty (:

The general is rule of thumb is that you must gain 10-12 attack upon converting. If you would gain less than that, you are likely (there are some extreme cases) to lose out on damage.

Or is it basically any type of attack difference because I was thinking of getting a clean 14-15 att DKJ at 120 also but I currently do not have an attack shield for my CB

Correct me if I'm wrong but 5LUK=1WA, so 75AP into LUK=15WA which is the weapon attack the Khanjar gives. Khanjar=15WA 75LUK=15WA 75STR=probably the same but from what I've sorta learned it raises minimum damage range more then maximum damage range, which probably means LUK does the opposite. I don't know the details about STR and LUK but I know they have different effects on the Character stats in the detail tab. I could go into a bunch of details but I'm trying to make this as simple as possible without getting caught up in my own calculations and making this look like we're in math class. Umm hmmmm... this is what I think, LUK and STR have like ying and yang effects on your attack, while one increases your maximum damage more than your minimum damage, one increases your minimum more than your maximum they probably give the same amount of attack just distribute it differently when it comes to the minimum and maximum damage ranges.

Unless you already have a 20+ atk Dkhan it's not worth it.

Going str-less would keep you from losing out on damage, but that would require some nicely scrolled equips. Whenever the HTP can be upgraded to +52 every stat though, it'll be much easier
The thing is, though, that nobody adds 75 to STR. You have 4 "must have" STR anyway, plus the STR that comes natural with items like the Zakum Helm, medals and the MoN or the HTP. The amount of STR needed differs per person. :S
Daigoro is right in that adding STR will increase your minimum damage, and so will adding DEX. However, when possible, always add LUK. However, LUK always gives more damage than STR or DEX To figure out how much Luk = 1 W. Atk for where you're currently at, use A = (3.6*LUK + DEX + STR) B = 3.6* (Total Wep Atk) Find A divided by B, it will tell you how much LUK = 1 Weapon Attack. To find out how much damage each LUK adds, just use 3.6*(Total Wep. Atk)/100 If you have 100 WA, 1 Luk Adds 3.6 damage. If you have 200 WA, 1 Luk Adds 7.2 damage, and so on...
the thing is, there are many equips that give common stats. Zhelm - 15 str, HT necklace - 22 str, lilin ring - 3 str, black belt - 5 str (if you can't afford a good witch belt), base - 4 that's already 49 str, so you only need to add 26 str (without even getting str specialized equips!) so you are missing out on 26 luk and assuming you are at a level at which 5 luk ~ 1 WA, you are only missing out on about 5 wa.
it aint 5luk=1att to all, and Luk dits get MoN instead of HTN giving em little advantage so its more than 5watt, and if you have pretty pro equips 14x-15x its more like 4Luk=1watt giving luk dits more advantage. so you forgot completely effects that MoN give too
