This is a thread I'm making seriously, not some casual stuff. This is more of Evolution vs Creationism really. Now I know I'm entering dangerous territory, but that's what I'm sort of hoping for. You see, I need information about the struggle of Science VS Christianity for my essay that's due tomorrow. What better place then the collective minds of Basilmarket? How does one disprove the other? How does the other defend that faith? It would be nice for you all to help, but keep within reasonable bounds and discuss intelligently and mature if possible. Thanks for your help!

You have to give props to science for being one thing that can explain... or is trying to explain everything without adding a surpreme diety into it and say he did it... however props to christians too since... well they are actually trying to counter science in prefectly logical way but not adding too much of what a surpreme diety can do... infact, the useage of a surpreme diety did it all is starting to die down... they are using logic and events happened in the bible to compair to science

The Big Bang has been proven. Evolution has been proven. The Bible has NOT been proven, there is no facts backing it up other than some dead people's words. I could easily say that the book "Legend" is the real Bible and I'd have just as much proof backing it up than the Bible does.

Okkk. Well, in my opinion, people should just stick to their own beliefs. Why would you ever try to disprove something that plays a major part in most people's lives. I mean really, people choose to believe what they want to believe, and if others think that it's not true, so be it, but I don't think they should criticize and ridicule because of it. *sigh*

I'm not Christian but I'm a big fan of the Bible. I take all the stories as myths that teach about morality and ideal characteristics along with showing how the Jew's beliefs of God changed throughout time. The Old Testament should not be taken literally, nor should parts of the New in my opinion.

Well science is the study of the "natural" world. Religion is supernatural. Can't use science to disprove religion.

No disrespect to any Christians, but there is little to no proof that the events that happened in the Bible actually took place.

Without it, we might still be living in caves and killing random people and carrying their women off to our caves.

Any religion can complement science so long as the religious practitioners are open to science, but when they are not they are generally very close minded as seen through the trial. Isn't it still illegal to teach evolution in some states?
