In every pokemon game I've owned, all I've done was use my starter pokemon to beat every trainer/gym. I know this isn't good for strategic playing and stuff. I'm just wondering if anyone else does this.

I think I pretty much did that for red version... explains why charizard was my only lvl 100 in any game :P

Well i usually use my starter for the main story....I usually get the water type cause then i have a surfing pokemon right at the beginning. After the Elite 4 i usually leave it to train other, better, pokemon.

No, I get rid of my starter as soon as possible. However whatever the next pokemon I find is, I usually use that as my only pokemon.

I used to do that when I was a little kid. I used to be so lazy to train other people, but back in RSE like 4 years ago I started actually catching other pokemon.
