what is the best pirate?

brwalers or gun slingers? im looking for somthing that has ok damage but not overdone a character that is suficent in battle like being faster or have skills that effect the way you attack. what pirate is that

You are being way to vague when you're asking that criteria. Brawlers have the overall best mob control there is to offer as well as a strong damage over groups of monsters. Single targets may not be their strong point but they remain still sturdy when it comes to avoidability. Brawlers, if used efficiently, are almost untouchable in battle as well, saving up alot of health potions. They still have a high stamina (second to warriors) and their diversity to situations are usually always adaptable. Gunslingers later in 4th job have the highest Single Target damage versus every other class. They lack health but make up for it in adaptability to status cast (freezing/stun). Now after what I mentioned about brawlers, gunslingers however, are also strong in mobs as well (especially after the balancing patch). Generally faster than a brawler in terms of speed, they also have other special skills. I'm not a gunslinger, so I can't say for sure

Gunslinger. They have weak damage at first but it gets better after the balancing patch. In fourth job, we have the best DPS in the game. Meaning we are the very best in the whole game 'damage-wise" in fourth job. With some cool skills, I'll admit that buccaneer's have flashier skills. But Gunslingers at some point get the cool battleship for cannons and torpedo, bird bombers, octopus mount that kills, fast shooting skills like fire thrower or ice splitter and more.

[/quote] flame thrower and ice splitter are not fast... Sairs are said to have the best "theoretical" damage, and absolutely no buffs (only booster). Buccs have alot of very useful buffs like Speed Infusion, and time leap.

Dragon Strike is pretty fast, and we can stay invincible Dragon Dancing. Single-target DPS though, Battle Ship Cannon > Barrage + Dragon Strike.

descriptions are too vague. sorta hard to make a comparison between gunslingers and brawlers simply because one is a ranged attacker and one is melee. buccs - good mob skills, flashy moves, high survivability, has SI which is helpful to certain characters in party. However, they have generally low damage output on single targets (bossing), and low hp compared with other melee classes (warriors in particular). corsairs - highest single target output in game, relatively good mob skill compared with other ranged classes, higher hp compared with other ranged classes. However, they have no party skills, hard to train early on and they are heavily reliant on ship.

Go bucc! They are flashy and get lots of mob skills. They level pretty good in 2nd job. Then slow again at the beginning on 3rd job. Then faster again when they start getting good leveled skills. They have ok damage too :P
