I'm in Pre AP Geometry, which means I am one year ahead in Math compared to everyone in regulars classes, but I still have to take the Algebra I benchmark, and my teacher is counting it as a major grade as well. I don't remember anything from last year, like slope-intercept, y = mx + b, the thing where you draw the dotted line on the graph and shade above it, the thing where the line on the graph forms a U or a V, I basically don't remember any of that and I don't understand any of that. Could somebody please review me on all of the highlights of Algebra I so I can remember how to do everything? Thanks a lot.

b = where you start [i think] mx = how much you rise/run [i think]

You're asking a community filled with kids probably in the 6th grade and lower to tutor you in math. Go find a tutor in real life, yeah? I doubt you'll learn anything from anyone here.

There is no such thing as Pre-AP? Unless you're thinking about Pre-IB. y=mx+b is a linear equation and what you're talking about are parabolas.

The "U" is parabola. It's a function that happens when you have an exponent in your function The "V" is an absolute value. Which is basically anything negative will become positive. @Above, Pre-AP is basically advanced/honors classes. They're accelerated, but you don't get college credit

Good time to ask! Well its all about Y=mx+b, y2- y1 over x2 - x1 equals slope, etc. stuff like that.
There is such thing as Pre-AP. We can't really help you review over the entire subject of Algebra I, be more specific? We don't know exactly what you're talking about when you say U or V. Possibly U could be a parabola, V a graph of an absolute value. in y=mx+b, b is the y intercept(the point at which the line intersects with the y axis) and m is the slope of the line, and y/x are variables.

y = mx + b y = y m = slope x = x b = y-intercept i think o.o dont hate if i got it wrong ;O

EDIT: One of the questions has a dotted line drawn in the first quadrant of the line graph, it's going across the top-right and everything above it is shaded. It asks something like "what equation fits this". How do I determine that? I remember doing problems like these in PAP Algebra I but I forgot everything

U is a parabola which is x^2.
Choppstiix : IB and AP are the same thing. Different states called it different things.
Nope. IB and AP are two separate programs. You can have a school with IB and AP courses. AP courses are individual courses that are at uni level(supposedly) while the IB program usually forces you to take the cluster of IB classes; take all or take none.
