Already Taken Names

So, lately I've been coming across many of these threads about how they can't use a name that they want to because it is being used by an active or inactive player in the game. Most of the time, we'll complain that the player is no longer playing the game or returns in a year or 2. I was thinking that maybe we should do some sort of petition like the security one. If it were to work, the rankings would be less cluttered with all those very inactive (3yrs+) players who quit or plan to return later on... which doesn't really make a difference to me if they aren't willing to use the character. Suggestions for Nexon: Players inactive for more than x years (x = # of years) should be wiped from the system. Your suggestions? Comments? or concerns? Edit: Do know that Nexon loses money from inactive players, and even if they were to try and invite them again what are the chances? Not to mention there are so many ps's out there at the moment. Names are really important, they distinguish you and I get really irked that whenever I join something I have to make my own screen name. Even if the screen name I thought of was interesting but was taken by a player or person who does not use the application anymore then how would I feel? Guess... pissed of course! (I take the longest making a new maple character because I don't have a name for it.. haha). Some people gain even more motivation with a their wanted name, and will probably load that character with NX. While others who have already left Maple long ago would or would not be concerned if their name was taken. If you don't play it then how do they distinguish you from others? They can't because you don't exist in the game! (Pretty crazy logic.. but yah). Really based on your perspective though :l

If they cared about the name at all, they would log on to prevent getting deleted. I agree with your idea.

First come first serve, buddy. It could probably be a mule also. But one thing they could do, is probably change their name to something medieval or weird instead of wiping from the system.

Just because they don't play anymore doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to come back & play. If I went on a ~1294 year hiatus & decided, "Oh hey, let's play MS again!", & find that my account's been wiped, I wouldn't be too satisfied.

I sorta agree cause everytime i level up it says "100,000 up overall ranking!", but those might be inactive players :/

Wasn't the idea of after x amount of time of inactivity, the name, depending on the x level, will be available to others, but the original owner of the name now has a character with 'no name', and would be compensated for the loss with X amount of NX, already thought of a few months ago? 0.0 Sorry for confusing post.

I love that idea. If they're not log on for more than 50 years, Nexon could assume they're dead or MIA.
