Is a Crimson Archglaive worth it?

Ok, so I'm currently level 107, and I'm going to be grinding like crazy, but i have a question; Is it really worth my time to replace my 107 maple Karstan with a Crimson Archglaive? I mean, how much ARE these things anyways? I've never seen one scrolled well, and the only clean one I could find was 500m -- WAY more than I thought it was worth. -_- So, guys, what should I (any any other character who uses a pole arm) do for an end game weapon? Get the archglaive, keep a karstan (if a warrior), or what? I'm in mardia, I'm completely dexless (4 base but can get equips to meet 80), and BY FAR prefer normal/fast weapons.

In my opinion, no I rather use my chelbird. Buttttt if you like speed more than dmg then I say go for it. If you like dmg over speed then choose a chelbird/reverse.

Speed out-damages raw power-- but if your losing like, 30 wpn atk, its no longer worth it IMO. Should I just try and find a karstan with more att instead?

It's worth it only if you're able to scroll it well. If you've got terrible luck scrolling, or you're not funded enough to spend out your ass on a level 100 weapon, don't bother. I've got everything I need on my Aran as a side project for an Arcglaive, except for 479 Crimson Woods, and 27 Typhon Feathers. I say just casually go around and collect wood from time to time. I'm not in a hurry to get one for my Aran, so I'll just get one when I finally spend enough time to collect all the wood.

As a side note-- Doesn't the drop in 36 accuracy damage your chances of hitting most boss enemies? Shouldn't that affect ones decision as well? Or is it not noticeable at higher levels?

The higher level you are, the less accuracy you require to hit an enemy. http://www.screamingstatue.com/accuracy is a good place to check how much accuracy you need to hit what, when. I use it frequently to try and plan out potential training spots. EDIT: Was linking changed? :< I was under the impression I wasn't allowed to post URL's yet because I have no feedback. o____o

No, it was not, and apparently your required accuracy only decreases up until you match the enemies level, beyond that, you still need a certain amount of accuracy. So, back to my side question.

I'm aiming for a Diasra because it's actually slow, not slower. And for bossing there's usually a Bucc around so I won't suffer bossing wise. The question really is, would you rather be a DPS Aran or a DPM Aran? It all goes with your play style. I made a 116 atk zedbug with 100% scrolls after my friend took back his 116 atk glaive. It cost him a lot more to make his glaive than it took to make my Zedbug. The speed difference is noticeable but not crippling.

yes it's definitely worth it I switched from a karstan to arc and yea you lose that acc but if you have good dex equips ur good and once you level up the more monsters ad stuff you can hit unless you just wana save ur money for a well scrolled purple surf

So, back to my side question.
The accuracy drop should not be a major detriment unless you cannot match 140+ which is the very most basic which you need. Though people say in the later areas of Temple of Time you need roughly 180+. And I'm aware you need a certain amount of accuracy to hit a monster. I meant that the required accuracy for hitting a monster above your level goes down as you level up. I certainly hope you did not think I said it still continues to decrease as you out-level the monster. |

I suppose that strikes an interesting question... I guess I just fall into the class of damage hore, as most characters strive to be, so which winds up more efficient?
They're both efficient. You attack faster, hit softer. You hit harder, you attack slower. On BOTH sides efficiency is purely dictated by attack power, not speed. So you'd pretty much just have to look at it in a trade off sort of way. How much attack do you need to offset the levels of speed you're sacrificing. Or vice versa. |

But Aran's also have that combo meter, which makes calculations a little more complex than that, because the more hits they get in, the bigger their damage becomes, making raw power even harder to catch up with. What kind of difference would you need? + xx wpn atk / wpn speed? Approximately in your opinions?
