its a piece of crap movie....... i really dont think it deserved best picture.... Avatar's graphics stunnin.

Gotta love wikipedia: The Hurt Locker is a 2008overrated piece of crap American war thriller. It was one of the most overrated films of 2009, earning awards and honors from numerous organizations, festivals and groups even tho its not that amazing.

If you see the box office results (i cant be sure on this as there are many many different numbers, but where i got my information) most of the sales were in the united states at the 2009 release.. When it was released in 2008 out side the united states it was no good....

Members of the Academy choose the winners based on overall quality and nothing more. Geez

Avatar should have got it, overrated or not hurt locker was terrible, the accounts depicted in the movie were highly inaccurate stated by the soldiers that were and still are in iraq Avatar, whether the story was unoriginal or not, it was straightforward and the visual were excellent. It had more reason to win.

The box office sales should not be a factor for Best Picture.

It's ironic how this shows that the US Army will shoot at any iraq civilians holding a cell phone close to an object that may contain explosives..
