Think about it. Long ago Great Britain was considered the "greatest country" in the world. Now the United States have completely taken over. And with China slowly building up economically, having a large military force, and almost 1/6 out of the world's total population, what's to stop them from taking over.

China is completely overrated. Sure, they have a huge underpaid workforce. That was great--back in the 19th century. In a post-industrial era, China is far far behind.

Japan has been pretty stable. But with the death of Kim Jong Il in a few years or so, North and South Korea might reunite, and THAT would give them the largest military force in the world, technological advances on par with Japan, and plenty of media influence through the kpop wave.
