can i teach myself how to play the piano?

well ever since i was little i've always wanted to learn how but my parents never had the money to buy me one. i bought a $25 keyboard from walgreens. i really really want to learn how to play this.. i would practice day and night. anyways my question is; is it hard to learn to play the piano? do you think i could teach myself?

Yes you can. You have to practice a lot though. If you don't get it (you won't) at first don't get mad. Just take breaks and keep working at it. I taught myself how to play piano and I don't even own one.

yes i really do want to go the whole way! i watch videos of piano cover songs on youtube a lot.. it seems so fun and interests me a lot.

I can sorta play the piano. but that's only because i can read treble and bass clef. Learn where the notes on the keyboard are first, then try playing simple scales without looking at the keyboard. then move onto simple songs like "Mary had a little lamb"

Just learn how to read music and just know the keys on the piano. That's pretty much it.

$25 one from Walgreens? Sheesh, must be bad quality. You can do it. Piano isn't that difficult and you'll get it very fast. Try to use Youtube video guides because it's easier to learn from watching.

use the internet to learn just look up tutorials my friend learned how to play guitar and piano off the internet

of course you can, just get some easy songs first, and go from slow to fast, if you have problem with a certain song, just youtube how it's supposed to be played, you just need loads of practice.

I'm learning piano having played clarinet first. The only hard part is having to read bass because I'm not used to reading it and playing two parts at once. Clarinets obviously can't do that.

Yea. You'd discover that classes don't really help anyways. Once you learn how to read notes and symbols, you're set. Rest is just self-interpretation of your pieces.
