Ok... so I was just surfing on Basil and had 2 Youtube tabs open and all of a sudden, my web browser (Mozilla Firefox) just froze and like 10 minutes later the XP Internet Security and McAfee anit-virus programs started freaking out and they keep telling me every minute that my computer is infected. I can't really do anything about that either because it keeps asking me to re-register back to them which i don't want to do. Also, I'm running a virus scan on AVG (yes I know i got overkill on the anti-virus programs) but so far it hasn't found any problems. Please help Basil I don't want this computer totaled into nothingness. Thanks again for any and all help.

You can always do system restore.... and delete the McAfee because it has a lot of false postives

XP internet security is a virus, delete it. Also, having multiple anti viruses on 1 comp is bad as they detect each other as viruses.

Yeah if u ever get something called "Microsoft Anti Virus" and all your icon's names start going red and when you click on them it says, "Cannot open. This program is infected or something, then you have a virus. My laptop with Windows XP Pro had something like that, but I got a new hard drive on it and now it has Windows 7, so I guess it was for the better lol

It has gotten you too! There are these chain of rogue software hijackers Anti-virus XP/Vista/Windows 7 and other ones Does it say you have like 30 viruses and that you should buy their garbage to fix it? If it does, then it is the rogue software. It has happened to many people including me (and my mom, lol) Here: http://www.softsailor.com/how-to/16944-how-to-remove-antivirus-vista-2010-virus-win-7-antispyware-2010-virus-and-xp-internet-security-2010-virus.html

Oh also I'm curious on how I got it can anyone explain?

Though my mother doesn't use Basil and she got it, so I really do not know. But the website I posted is the solution to your problem, good luck

Follow Myterac's advice. He's great, helped me fix my computer when I caught the virus. Getting back to your problem... Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from another computer to your USB Hard Drive. Use in infected computer and watch it get rid of it.Must use rkill first so programs can open. System Restore won't work the virus will eventually get back to you. In Mozilla Firefox download the add-on Adblock Plus. Edit:@Myterac Yes you can get this virus from most ads including from Basilmarket,Youtube.
