So prom is coming up.. and i recently got a date.. My estimated amount for this one night is 1 thousand dollars.. to buy the tickets for me and her, rent a limo, tux,pants,shirt,shoes, and the flowers stuff... How are you planing to get to prom? and Do you really have to dance ? cause i can't lets talk about prom

1000 is insane. My dress was 200, the limo was 500 split 5 ways and tickets were 50 each

I don't think spending that much money on one night is worth it. Not like I have a girlfriend. Edit: Might be cool to go with a bunch of friends so that the limo would be cheap though :P

Wow, seriously $1000 o_O? Why can't your date buy her own prom ticket, lol. And if you get more people to ride in your limo, you won't spend as much since it'll be split among everyone.

i spent about 300 for everything. You should split limo cost with some friends saves you alot of money and a 1000 dollars is alot dont think you need that much.

I don't even know the exact price of the limo yet, but my friend saw one for 130 per person times the hours you want.

I skipped prom. Pretty sure I worked that night. Later found out that our prom was horrible, so I didn't feel bad about skipping the expensiveness/finding a date.

[/quote] I'd feel bad if my date paid for my ticket, LOL... I'd rather pay for the ticket myself. That's just me (and I think the majority of the girls), I don't know how your date feels about you buying her ticket. I didn't go to prom in a limo, we all just rode in separate cars because we wanted to do a lot of things after prom. A corsage isn't expensive either, it should just be around $15.
