| Lol, this isnt a "whos better post". I have a 121 NL. And im making a new charcater for this new event coming up. I was planning on making a new one because my NL has 113 base dex, and 175 with equips Y-Y. Anyways, i was wondering if i should make another NL ,and not mess up on him or a corsair? |

| You could start a Corsair for fun. But you've only just hit Nightlord. You should wait til it gets boring til you switch over to a new character. |

| Also if you rather depend on yourself for power instead on another class to give you a boost then corsair is the job for you. Rather depend on my self than a fail BM in any boss run. |

|
xdog : You forgot 3rd. Make a NL.
agreed. hermits have better damage than outlaws by a lot. this is a trend 1st, 2nd , and 3rd job but it changes at 4th job where corsair has the hand on its favor in terms of dmg. of course, considering both are equally funded. |

| Tbh after lvl 80 both jobs only have 1 place to train till 13x. 1~80 is kinda biased with the nightlord because of mobility and substantially higher dmg. |

| if you do decide to go night lord you might want to account for the balance patch which turns steal into a 2nd job equivalent of slashblast |

| from what ive experienced id say a corsair, simply because i have tried remaking chars (treid remaking my drk cause of its 80 dex) and i didnt get very far cause it felt like i was doing the same exact thing again and it annoyed me, Corsair will give u a new playing experience entirely and it will keep things interesting, from personal experience i know that corsairs are very very fun if u can handle dismounting before getting hit and if u can handle the BLAAHHH training till 70... |

|
alanyang1093 : if you do decide to go night lord you might want to account for the balance patch which turns steal into a 2nd job equivalent of slashblast
steal is a bandit skill. • • • in actuality, Outlaws have a higher DPM than Hermits from 70-100, but this is following a regular build on both sides. Rangers and Snipers dont fall very far behind. In any case the differences in DPM between the classes in 3rd job is so small (compared to the differences in 4th job), it really shouldn't be used as a factor in choosing a class. Granted yes, 4th job DPM varies much more, and is quite a prominent figure if an attack class is what one desires, but DPM is only a small factor in choosing a class. Sure corsairs may have the highest DPM in the game, but did they replace BMs, MMs, and NLs? I think not. Mobility, mob ability, train speed, buffs, support skills, equips, cost, funding etc, etc are all important factors that are equally important in choosing a class. Side note: I just realized "mob ability" and "mobility" are kinda similar lol. |

| personally i'd stick with the current NL, no matter how bad the stats are. If you're power-hungry go corsair for sure, even though they have crap damage 1st and 2nd job, 3rd job they are amazingly strong, and 4th job they have one of the highest dpms in the game. BSC (battleship cannon) is amazingly fast and strong, and torpedo can mob too. personally, i'd stick with the current NL, but if im bored, or just power-hungry, you should make a corsair. |

| This really depends on what YOU want and depends on if you want to either have more fun or have higher damage. Notice how i said MORE or HIGHER. im not saying that one class is fun and the other isnt, and one class has high damage and the other has low, Im just making a reference that if you want to have more fun, Corsair is definitely the way to go. People may argue how NL's have avenger, shadow partner, haste and FJ, but corsairs get elemental attacks, grenades from above, octopus turrets, ships, recoil shot, etc. Now it's true that NL's get "higher" damage than Corsairs, but once you become the same level and both have 4th job, the damage nearly evens out, in fact, Corsairs have a higher DPM rate. Considering you have a level 121 NL, it seems to me that you plan on getting your next character as high as the level you are now, or maybe higher, so in the long term, I would suggest Corsair, but in short term playing, I suggest going for a Hermit (if you aren't going to go up to 4th job). And since you already know how to use a NightLord with strategies, why not mix things up a bit. If you're good at one thing, move on to the next, don't just lurk around with the same thing all the time :p it gets boring doesnt it? Making and playing a NL up to 121, then making another one that just has higher damage from perfected AP distribution, and playing for a while again to get back to 121... uhhuh Hope this contributed to your thinking as the others. |
