FM Hacks are alive and prospering

Yup. So far, FM hacks in Scania have destroyed four Excellence Guild Members. It is infact, true. Its called remote hacking. When you change channels, enter cash shop, or enter MTS, and you suddenly d/c, you may have gotten hacked. The other person tracks your IGN (so this can only happen if they know your IGN), and every time you enter a channel, maplestory basically logs you back in to that channel again. That person tracks your information. The only way to end this is to wait until patch, which is March 3rd.

OK, A few things I don't understand is how do they make you log onto the same channel o_o. And how do they gain access to your information. I see that you said that they "Track it" but its not as explanatory as I would like it to be. If you could please explain. I would feel much safer D:

Perhaps your 15 attack SCG isn't as appealing to hackers to say, a 21 attack BWG, or maybe you're lucky. :o Just because it hasn't happened to you yet doesn't allow you to call this hack bogus without any proof. In addition, there has been plenty of reasonable debate over the existence of this hack. Clearly some people are just too stubborn to admit such a hack can exist just because it hasn't happened to them yet. That being said, if you do get hacked, do realize that you won't find many sympathizers.. and of course there will be more skeptics. I'm sure that not everyone who writes of these hackings are doing it for attention. 2. I've mostly seen ch2. :o And if no one is targetting you by asking you to change to that specific channel, obviously you wouldn't get dc'd.

Again, I direct my point to "NAME SAVING TECHNOLOGY". @That guy: What? Everyone who's griping about it got absolute GARBAGE taken from them. In fact, the best I heard got taken was a 13 attack SCG. If the hackers took those, I see no reason why they wouldn't try to take mine. And I'm on a mule character, so if by the very very unlikely chance that this is true, I won't lose anything.

When your screen 'blacks out' to relog, you and the hacker both disconnect from maple, on the hacker's screen spawns YOUR character with all the equips/mesos, thus they do not gain access to your information. For the actual details on how they dc you/get into your account, I don't know. (:

Excellent already got kinda hacked and lost all its real pros a while ago, lol. now theres mostly new people, they're high levled as well, but nowhere as good as before

And of course, you could just be lucky and the hackers aren't interested in your stormcaster. "Well you answered one of my questions... You don't log off, the hacker dcs you off your account and he dc's as well, but in the process during the changing of channels he somehow intercepts it and makes your character spawn on his computer on the channel that he specified. not sure if that really makes sense. 8D

I highly doubt they're "just not interested". But okay, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. But I'm gonna raise the ante and start betting an even better item in a couple of minutes. Let's see if something happens now.

I'm sorry for the people that got hacked but i dont believe their is a program that would intercept encrpyted data, use that exact primary key to decode and than transfer the data to the hackers computer... if such a program exsit i dought people would be using it on maplestory and instead targeting bank transcation. Did you ever think the hackers had the information to the persons account, did a simple /find *insert name*, then preformed a simple dc hack and logged into your account? Im sorry but a program like this sounds to good to be true.
