How did you ask someone out?

I'm interested in what lengths people go through to get someone to say yes. This is an extra credit project at school which is due lol tommorow :c. Anyways, here's some real life examples: A friend of mine organized several posters and signs with the school's permission for a girl to follow. It led to an open quad area with him in an naruto mask (lol). Both being anime otakus the girl stares at him. He pulls a flower out of his wrist and takes off the mask says something really corny (I forgot, something about masks, love, and insanity) and hands her the flower. He proceeds to ask her out on a date. You know somewhere to eat, late night movie... at his house. She agrees (after her parent's consent) and they've been together ever since. Another example would be me: As a dare I was forced to ask a girl out to a dance I never really wanted to go to. Luckily the girl my friends chose could take a joke. They said I had to think of something corny. I thought to myself "Ha, me corny? When pigs fly..." And that's when it hit me. Pigs flying would be impossible. She saying yes would be impossible. I drew pigs on a few ballons with a sharpie marker and led her to a private area with my friends behind a wooden pillar. I said "if pigs can fly so can we! Would you go to the dance with me?" She said yes, but I said it was a joke and I was dared to. She looked a little disappointed but had other guys waiting for her, so she was fine.

it was a really nice and sunny almost-summer day. i just plainly asked her if she wanted to go hang out after school (i had told her that i liked her about a week earlier). we went to the beach. we started dating a week after, but she broke up with me in early december. it's been like 3 months since she broke up with me, and i'm still not over her.

It's weird how people can just say "I like you." Way to go Captain Obvious. Very blunt. Quite out there. If she can't figure that out herself, I don't wanna be near her. Like, seriously.
