Hey guys, so I have to write about an essay regarding homophobia and their problems around the community/school. Any ideas on the potential consequences of homophobia? Here's what I have so far : In Killarney, bullying is common, and usually is related to homophobia. Homophobia includes gays and lesbians, which make up a good portion of the community. In school or even in our community, the term �gay� always occur. What really is �gay?� To be gay, is when the same sex is attracted to each other. However, we, as students, use �gay� as if there are no more adjectives to choose from. �That�s so gay,� and �Are you gay?� are common phrases that teenagers use when someone does something unoriginal or weird. It may seem weird, disturbing, and even gross, to see people gay. Just because they think differently, shouldn�t be a signal for us to bash on them. How would you feel if you were their shoes? Gay, and lesbians are still people, and should be treated the same as us. Acknowledge their decisions. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Homophobia starts off slow, but can get into very serious conditions such as suicidal thoughts, depression, *Killarney, is the name of my High School, which I'm writing about.

The big thing is bullying and eventually depression and suicide. If I think of something else I'll post. Btw, there's a few grammatical mistakes in there. Not to be a Grammar Nazi or anything D;.

Eh, the grammar mistakes aren't THAT bad (definitely seen worse), but that seems like a pretty good start. Just try not to make it into a "don't be mean to people lets all be friends and sing kumbaya (or however its spelled)," because then it wouldn't be different from any other bullying essay.

Why would you want to kill Arney? What did he ever do to you? On a serious note though I wouldn't be able to write an essay about that because I haven't ever seen any gay people around my school though people do say "that's so gay" and stuff like that.

Coming from a gay guy, it's really hard to come out in high school cause of comments like that, since you dont know what people will think. And a good one liner is, like the person sitting across from you could be gay, and you don't even know it. Or something like that.
