Spearmans Spear or Polearm (Hybrid)

I've just made a Spearman I plan on getting to Dragon Knight because it's a class that looks fun in my opinion and they just interest me but right now I am in a little problem. My Spearman is a Hybrid and currently I am level 32 with Polearm Mastery except I'm kind of tired of the fact that I have to use Polearms. The main reason I want a DK is because Spear Crusher is just awesome but then again being polearm will help me level and therefore I can get past those hell levels whereas if I were to go pure Spear Crusher build it'd be harder to train. Right now I feel like using spear for second job and maybe PA for late second job. Even if the attack ratio is 3:2 I feel as if I'd enjoy using spears especially since Spears can be found in MTS and I use that as a source for finding weapons whereas I can't really find any low leveled Polearms in MTS. Is it really necessary or does it matter what route you take during second job? Is it just faster to go Polearm? Sorry if you have seen this thread before but it is possible to get a wider variety of answers.

believe me go PA in second job, however, if you ABSOLUTELY want to go spear, forget adding points to HB, this however, will destroy any chance of PQ, except cpq and PyPQ if alone, and will also force you to be more aware when you train, as most monsters will kill you fast but what does it matter? in the end (lvl 70) you will have both spear and plearm mastery, both spear and polearm booster, and Hyper body. just for friggin's god's case, DO. NOT. ADD. POINTS. TO. FINAL. ATTACK. if you want extra info, pm me, and i'll come back and post why, etc.

uhm.. in 3rd job you dont max spear crusher until lvl 110+.

It's fine going spear first. I did and converted to polearm at level 64. I actually find the fast attack of impalers a lot better than normal attack speed of most polearms. It really doesn't slow down your training that much.

Because I am almost certain the regular builds for Dk is maxing out spear crusher first, however, there is a possibility I maybe incorrect. Hey there is nothing wrong about using a spear first for 2nd job and then later on switching to polearm in 3rd Job as long as you GO with the Hybrid build but just switch Polearm and Spear Mastery so you max out Spear Mastery/Booster then Polearm Mastery/Booster. Heck I used Skis till I hit 64 where I started using a Karstan. I still hate using a polearm because everyone thinks I am an aran but hey I can noticeably see a difference in my DPM because of the 3:2 Ratio.

Then Roar or spear crusher I don't know yet. So a 9x could possibly not have it maxed if they went roar first.

well i went with pa build first and it it went very well currently 65 fast training for me imo but at 70 im just going to put 1 spear crusher then max pa fury since i got myself a 11/111 atk redemption xD

I just went pure spear with my Dk. its called SPEARmen for a reason. and dragon fury is just for 70-120, which isent so bad anymore with all the new spots.

[/quote] lvl 70 1 PA crusher lvl 70-80 30 Pa crusher, 1 sacrifice lvl 80-91 2 sacrifice dragon roar, 30 dragon roar, 1 elemental resistance lvl 91-96 20 elemental resistance lvl 96+ you can choose to max spear crusher, fury, and bring iron body to 19 in whatever order you perfer. this maximizes training speed through 3rd job.
