Do you HAVE to get circumsized? or is it not mandatory? Edit: My parents want me to get circumsized they say its mandatory you have to. I'am like WTH I'AM NOT GETTING MY GENITAL CUT, also can someone post proof that you don't need to, so I can show them?

@Above Itll still look the same even if u did or didnt get it at a baby. They only thing u will have to deal with is the pain pretty much.

mandatory: an act that is required. Essentially, you are asking "Do I have to, or do I have to?" Anyway, you dont have to. Some religions do it. Many people believe it should be done for cleanliness. But other than common knowledge (and just because it is common does not mean it is right), there is no real info supporting circumcision. I STRONGLY advise against it. Your parents may try to force you, but in the end, if you just keep saying no, they cant do it. Did you know, that every year, there are botched cases of circumcision where the person in question actually looses their male organ? There isn't anyone who looses their male organ because they got circumcised...

[/quote] Personally I can see only two good reasons for adult circumcision; 1) If its required for religious reasons and you are strong in your feelings and adherence towards your religion 2) If its needed for some kind of medical reason. Regarding pain, that to a certain extent is a non-issue. These days I am sure they could provide a decent level of pain relief. I had to have major urological surgery myself last year to fix a structural abnormality that hadn't been spotted till adulthood. It was major surgery and I was in hospital for 3 weeks. I was given a good level of pain relief and while it certainly was not pleasant it was necessary.

I dont get why people are so insistent that a bit of sanitation or to "look good" are good reasons for a surgical operation. That is so stupid. Might as well remove the appendix and tonsils at birth to prevent problems that will probably never arise, and then lobotomize troublesome people (lobotomies basically destroy free will), and start genetically engineering a super race of babies because its better that way... Im sorry, but circumcision is just so stupid, and only still survives because of long tradition.
