Regarding Crashing servers/Dupe

As many of you know, the past few days a new glitch has been discovered by hackers. This glitch (NOT a hack) has been released on some hacking forums and is being abused and there have been many hackers planning on a date, time and server to crash. How does the hack work? Simple, people will set up a store and put up there items for 1meso and either use a mule or a friend to buy it. Once bought the duper will smega stuff such as "S>GODLY ITEMS 1MESO CH12 FM12 QUICK COME!". This will cause a lot of people to change channels at the same time and will start a massive lag. Now there a lot of people in the same FM room at once and moving continiously and chatting at the same time the lag will become even greater, thus even more people still coming and changing channels at the same time. The bishops and A/Ms that spam there mobbing skills are not really accessaries to crash the channel it is just used because they think it will make the crash faster. Eventually if the duper gets enough people in the same FM room it might cause the channel to crash. But how does this cause a dupe? The reason this method of duping works is because Nexon's servers do not save data periodically. They also do not have a way of recognizing sold items in the database. Currently, your data is only saved when you: quit the game, change channels, go inside the MTS/CS, or change maps. Based on that, most of you should now understand why this actually works. Conclusion My opinion is that this does not work but I cannot be 100% sure as I do not play MapleStory anymore. But from my perspective this would have a 100 to 1 chance of working. The servers have become more resistant to crashing by having a ton of people in one channel. When there's too many people the server randomly disconnects people to avoid a crash. Please, if you are posting do not post with silly comments. I am open to any argument people have against my thread on duping and server crashing as long as it is kept reasonable. Lastly, some of the information in this thread has been taken from a forum which I will not name as I am more then certain that I will be banned from this forum for doing so. I take no credit for how this method was created nor released.

What? I dont get it.... then If that crash the Ch/Server how come the Duper won't crash? and If they do how can their items be dupe without a save because o their dc... and how would you know this?

ok 1. its not a hack its a GLITCH, 2. the channels crashed more than just once or twice TODAY... at least in broa, 3. Y.T.M.S. of broa duped all his godly items along with the items of his guildmembers! eg.: 27atk BWG (like 5 of them or even 10 now who knows), Maple Dana's 06 (he has like 8 now im sure), smiling masks, flaming katanas, waterwork capes, and who knows what not, maybe white scrolls?

[/quote] The duper does crash. That's what causes the dupe. It's a rollback for the duper to causing there items to be in there invent while they're mule has the original.

No proof that it exists. So far, it's just some stupid rumor. I can log on every server. None of them crashed. If the server crashes when items are "duped", and the "duping" is going on right now, why can I log on every server?

[/quote] Well, I'm sorry if i did explain something you already knew or some others but I thought I'd summarise it all up in one thread instead of it being spread in threads such as "zomg bera just crashed" or such. And also, some people don't know how this works all they know is the server crashes and the duper gets his items but they don't know HOW it causes the dupe.

And also the reason why you can log onto every server is because there is no duping going on right now.

[/quote] I'm trying to prove that none of the servers crashed and many people can still log on, nothing else. Rarely anyone is being affected. Basil makes up a very small part of maple. @TundraSlave: Explain why Scania crashed for a long time? You have no proof, so if anything, you're the idiot by believing everything you see on basil. Try having a mind of your own and think for yourself.
