There's a pretty good guide for both nightshadow maps in the archer training guide on basil. I never trained there myself, but I heard its pretty good.

It's a pretty good training spot, slower than Typhons. No potion burn at all when I trained.

I would think 2x at typhons is better then sniping at that Newts area, or maybe thats just cause i have wind walk o-o

No, Wrath of the Night is very empty unless you are talking about the cave map which I never really been in. If you are planning to go into Wrath of the Night I highly suggest maxed Puppet and Eagle/Hawk. At 4th job level 1 Dragon Breath with Puppet is good, best to not use a summon since when the summon hits a monster the monster will not get pushed back by Dragon Breath. They have some good drops and if you get lucky with 50 badges you can get a Raven Claw and eventually when you get the materials forge it into a Night Raven Claw which should go for a pretty penny.
