Now I know that many people will say "just train at WR" or train at "Typhons" but seriously , you will obviously get bored sooner or later. You probably would be dying to train somewhere else.Training at Typhons especially are a huge pot burn too. And anyway, why not try your luck at maybe getting a chance to get a chaos scroll from one of the bonefishes while training at Gobies. With the new method I made yesterday too I can surely say that training at Gobies has more benefits than the other two training spots, in my opinion. Now, what's so good about this method? -This method saves you a huge amount of money. Why? If done properly, you will probably lose only 1 unagi at the most if not none for every 6 gobies you kill. -This method saves time. 1.You will be executing the most number of attacks possible. This is because since you will not need to pot at all, it will just be one attack right after another as fast as time will allow. 2.Also you will always always be getting all 6 gobies with AR or AE (Since I am not a sniper, I can not be completely sure that Arrow Explosion will work as effective as Arrow Rain). The requirements for this method -At least level 3, or 4, maybe 5 on puppet (The puppet needs to survive at least 2 attacks from the gobies for this method to work properly. Since it seems that puppet's defense changes every time each summon a point or two more on puppet wouldn't be so bad). -A decent level of AR, but I guess level 1 would do too. (Once this method is used you could keep attacking all 6 gobies for eternity, if that be the case, and not get hit by one of them at all, even after puppet disappears). -At least 1 point on inferno. (This is for lure. As soon as the Gobies pop out after you destroy the Goby House, using Arrow Bomb would be a stupid idea. What about Arrow Rain? Well to use that, you've got to be pretty close to the house before the gobies spawn, yes... close enough for the house to attack you and put on it's uber defense skill. So this is why Inferno is needed) -A 3rd job bowman....(I think this should be self explanatory by now) Now...What you've all been waiting for! The method Itself! 1.First of all, after you've sniped the house, use inferno to lure all the gobies. 2. Go to any platform with no monsters such as Bonefish or a Gobyhouse and cast puppet in the corner. (If the platform is on the right side cast puppet as far right as you can. If the platform is on the left side, cast puppet as far left as you can) 3.As you wait for the gobies to gather around the puppet, you can avoid getting hit by - Jumping up over the gobies and then floating down on the other side of the gobies. - Using the jump key+ down arrow and going right back up on the other side of the gobies. or - Going right through the pack and hope they "miss" you. 4. Now you can spam AR/AE towards the direction of the corner you cast puppet in. If done properly, you will get all 6 gobies pushed against the wall easily letting you use AR/AE without

Fairly clear description, cool method. Wanna know what's wrong though? This method has been known and used since a few days/weeks after aqua road came out, which is like two years. The concept of puppet/AR/AE lure is not a new concept.

this isn't exactly a "new" method, you just reworded it. it's been around for ages, most of it's common sense. if anything, the early goby guide needs a bit of hawk in there, even just level 5 is enough to handle bone fish.

I dont think this would be effective for Snipers because we dont have Inferno and Blizzard would have the same effect as AB. It would just cause all the Gobies to float downward.

although people have done this for ages , and i miss squid/gobie partys , but yea like all the other people said , not a new method of training , and i would recomend going the squid side for 1 of 2 reasons they are easier to kill if u run into it, and gobies are actualy reallly good exp if u properly know how to kill them

If you need to lure Gobies with Inferno and then use puppet for every house, you're not a true Ranger.

|
XFScola : If you need to lure Gobies with Inferno and then use puppet for every house, you're not a true Ranger.
QFT. This is by far the most inefficient way to kill Gobies. The fastest, least pot-consuming method is to just Strafe a Goby House until its almost dead, walk to about 1 Puppet range away from it and blow up the House (remembering to stay level with the House). The moment the Gobies are in AR/AE range, jump and use AR/AE. You should be able to continually KB the Gobies and kill them. Least HP and MP pots used and quickest Goby killing speed = best method. |

Not a new method. Hell, not even the best method. Gobies are explained thoroughly in The Stickied Training Guide. Scroll down a tad and you can see the pure AR/AE technique.

I agree with Kevvl. The pure AR technique worked for my ranger better than the luring technique.
