| What's a good debate topic for an 8th grader? I'm thinking of doing Capitalism v.s. Socialism, me defending Capitalism and my partner defending Socialism. I find this one a bit difficult because the majority of my class doesn't even know what they are. EDIT: Both sides (the pro side and the con side) must be able to be defend equally (does that make sense?). By this I mean, don't give me a topic where if I was to go against it, I would win by a milestone. My partner also needs ammo, if he's arguing for it, or vice versa. |

|
CarnivorusVegan : I'm not as dumb as an average 8th grader though. I can comprehend better than most sophomores and even a small number of juniors.
I'm not saying you are dumb, but picking on these topics can be difficult to your audiences. If your audiences cannot understand what you are saying, then you accomplish nothing by talking about them. |

|
charismatic : Should the United States continue to recognize corporations as individual citizens?
All you have to argue is that if it isn't an individual, a corporation can't be sued. Case closed. |
