Now, yesterday, the women's 3000m long track (skating) had a bigass fight over something big. Korean skaters were the first to finish across the finish line, with China in 2nd, Canada in 3rd and the US last. Now, with controversy brewing, James Hewish, the chief referee for that match called a disqualification to the Korean team, allowing China to take Gold, Canada Silver, and U.S Bronze. Why did this happen? Koreans were allegedly pushing the Chinese skaters out of the way, when really, the Chinese had stepped on the Korean team's skates. As the Koreans were in the innerlane, and the chinese were trying to pass through, they stepped on the skates of the korean, causing a slight delay in the speed. The Koreans "pushed" the chinese away, which called for a disqualification after the race was over. The Koreans and Chinese both lapped the U.S with Canada slightly behind the Chinese. And so now, with little effort, the U.S wins bronze. Think that's fair after they sucked ass at skating? Koreans had the gold, and instantly stripped of it in less than 5 minutes they crossed the finish line. Why bring James Hewish into this? In the 2002 Speedskating, Hewish also called a disqualification for the Koreans, stripping another gold off them. With that, I've assumed he was biased over this decision. Do you think Korea or China should have won?
DeepRuin : What does he have against Koreans?
I've been reading that he awarded Ohno gold in the 2002 winter olympics (correct me if I'm wrong) and disqualified the korean skater so he would win.
