Launching from the website, yay/nay?

All glitches aside, Maplestory now launches from their website. For me, I've always found games that do this to be a major annoyance. Sure, load IE, load all the ads, load all the flash clutter on your webpage, and all your new NX items, and then let us log-in and play the game. We could already see all the announcements, updates, events, and new NX items WITH links from the original launcher, there's no point in changing anything. Ad revenue isn't relevant either, seeing as Nexon fills typical ad spaces with their own promotional junk. More interaction with the community and combining the web experience with the in game one? Total Boomerang Step. Players can't use the website when playing a fullscreen game anyways, forum events are scarce, the technical support isn't particularly good, and nobody uses the official forum anyways. So I'll end with a few questions: Is there any benefit to this change? Which launch method do you prefer? Is there any way to bypass this and set-up a shortcut directly to the .exe file or something to directly launch the game? I know this is possible with some other games that normally launch from the browser. Is it possible to set-up the shortcut to launch the website in a different browser such as Firefox of Chrome?

I can't launch from the website for whatever reason,so I just use my icon.

me neither,i try and download the patch but it comes up with a runtime error. you fail nexon.

Do you have to dowlnaod stuff to log in fromwebsite ? I want it to be like runescape u dont have to dowlnaod anything and u can go friends house and play! Dont have to have the maple junk on my computer is it like that or u still have to dowlload junk

I still start from the button when you click on Start Game. It doesn't redirect me.

somehow ( even though I knew you had to ) I could launch it form desktop.

I'm used to it cause i play Combat Arms and PopTag in which you have to start from the website

Oh and it is java. Maple is an executable game client full of images thus requiring a full download.
