I love how people are saying that they are 6 foot - 6'1 and they weigh 140-155 pounds, and apparently they bench 180+ pounds. Sorry to break it to you guys, you're a twig. No way in HELL are you benching that much.

The weight on the bar will be all over your shoulders, in which case you will need pectoral contraction in order to lift the weight. The arched lumbar will have to contract in order to keep your body static. That's when it gets easier: if you are placing your feet on the ground and your back is straight, your balance is utterly over your abdominal; if you arch your back, the contracted lumbar will get you stability. That's the main reason it is allowed in professional powerlifting. It's basically a technique to help you to bench.

No way in HELL are you benching that much. [/quote] The height to weight ratio doesn't make sense, but benching 180+ at that weight is reasonable and possible. Some people can bench over 3 times their weight.

EDIT: I've never been a fan of working out, nor have I actually worked out. The 115/95 came from fooling around one day in a gym. I give myself a 6 because I believe I have high endurance, and I can play most sports fairly well (except basketball and football)

I don't bench because I think it is cliche and useless compared to overhead pressing and weighted dips. It's associated with too many high school football players that aren't going through a full range of motion. Bleh.

I lol'd. But in all honesty... wow, I'm utterly amazed. Either Basilmarket lies a lot, or I'm just the average gamer, but I'd say I'm pretty strong. Compared to all of you, though, dang. Hell, we could make an unstoppable Basilmarket football team, by the looks of this.
