My theory in why Maplestory is so addicting.

Hey everyone. It's Matt with another new thread. Now, onto business. Excuse me if I have spelling errors, as well as grammar errors. I think Maplestory is so addicting because of the way Nexon or KoreaNexon designed it. I feel like they made grinding and PQing repetitive for a reason. I think they only did it so you could make new friends on the way, and I think that friends are the reason that stops you from quitting. In example: One day, a level 46 brawler logs in. It's fresh in the morning, and the brawler is ready to roll at CPQ. lets call the brawler...Jason Jason is headed to CPQ. When he first logs in he is greeted by his several friends and guild members. When he arrives at CPQ, he starts spamming to join a party. He joins a party of all 40+'s, him being satisfied. Jason, being the nice guy he is, greets the other people. He soon grows a bond with them and they become virtual pals. As most people say when giving advice to merchanting, This happens again and again, Rinse and repeat. So-I think the reason that people are so addicted is the fact that they cannot just push away the bonds they have created over the time of playing Maplestory. And when they finally break through-most of which will not-they try to find other things to do. They try and try, and end up in depression-rejoining Maplestory again and again. Lol friends on ms dont stop me from quitting, I tend to not value the friends on ms that much since I Real life friends who are way more important than any Virtual friend.

I agree to some degree, some friends do keep me from quitting ^^. I would stop once in awhile, but I would come back since they want me to play again if I have the time .

You're so right, nowadays my buddy list/alliance rarely greets each other, probably why I quit this God-forsaken game for a year!

I don't agree. I've got like, zero friends online because I just don't need them ONLINE. But still, I can't seem to quit.

It is sort of true, but I picture my enemy's faces on the monster I'm killing to help pass time. Maplestory is the only way I can contact my old friend that I moved away from.

Depends on the person, I guess. I often play without friends online or with friends AFK. It's always been like that for me.
