That music was meant to have singing. Singing is just another instrument in the band. It's not the only reason music exists. Seriously, I think anyone that says that has no musical experience at all.

To a certain extent, I suppose. Purely instrumental music fails to garner wide audiences because it lacks a focal point that people can latch on to. Vocals do that, so most pop music is based on vocals. Of course, with many artists straying away from vocal aesthetics, the audience might be shifting.

I find music without lyrics is really up to your own interpretation of the meaning of the song. More emotional than some lyric-filled songs.

I just think musicians should actually be able to sing or do what they do well. Look at most "rappers" from mainstream. They use autotune for their entire song, or don't actually use any vocal inflection. Unskilled. A lot of bands nowadays can't even play live anymore, because their actual instrument skills don't measure up with the edits done to their CDs.

[/quote] Autotune stinks, but creating an instrumental requires talent. DJ's have tlaent because thye can create beats.
