Help on "The Great Depression"

Well, I'm doing a poster project on the great depression. I need to answer these questions: 1. What were the major effects of the great depression? 2. Why was The Great Depression pertinent to 1930s American? 3. When and where did The Great Depression take place? 4. What is The Great Depression. I know the answer to #4 which is; the great depression is a time when the stock market had crashed and it had become a huge economic mess. Please help me answer these questions and could you all list some causes? Oh yeah, and don't say things like "Do your own homework." I have learned Nothing about this yet and it is one of the choices my teacher listed.

1. What were the major effects of the great depression? Caused the United States Economy to crash leading to widespread poverty levels in the cities. It was only ended by the mass exportation of war goods by the US during WWII. 2. Why was The Great Depression pertinent to 1930s American? Cause it happened in 1929 and lasted until 1940's 3. When and where did The Great Depression take place? NYC, aka The Stock Exchange, the Stock market. People were trying to buy stocks for a low price and trying to sell them at a higher price to make a profit only thing is when they bought the stocks, they bought it on margin, meaning the only paid 10% of the price, taking 90% of it on credit. So when it collapsed(too many people selling and not enough people buying and too much credit) 4. What is The Great Depression. The worst financial crisis of the United States. Set-up modern day institutions like the FDIC, Securities Exchange Committee, etc. Ended with WWII and we came out as a the sole superpower. My answers are correct. Why? Cause i am a credible source. Why? Cause i said so. My point being, i do believe you will need a works cited/bibliography and you are going to quote BASILMARKET? good luck with that
