To break up or not to break up?

OK well here is my situation: There is a guy who is patient, kind, and other things to his girlfriend (don't think dirty lol). He also tries not to get mad, overreact, be mean, etc. but sometimes he does because he is a human. And well let's just say that his girlfriend is not the best girlfriend ever, but he still goes out with her because he is not sure whether he: loves her, doesn't want to hurt her, doesn't want to hurt himself, or hurt both people. See they have broken up twice now and she told him that she will change, but when they get back she either goes back to her old self or there is something else that is bad about her. She is (not sure if it is safe to say) spoiled, mean, bishy (they wouldn't let me use the correct term), unpatient..... most of the time (to make her seem not that bad). He wants to break up, but this time for sure there will be no going back because he is tired of her lieing to him and the break up and make up situation. He also doesn't think that she will change, so he thinks that it is for the best, but he is not sure. So what do you think that he should do? (I used he and she because I didn't want to use names and it was a bit easier to write. I also didn't want people to start to pms about phrases like " I am patient and kind " and say that it is BS. PS: Sorry if I have improper grammar for all of you grammar addicts out there.

Break up if the guy no longer love the girl. or break up because the guy can't stand the girl anymore (I mean c'on, broken up 2 times already and yet she's still the same). I know it's hard to change someone's personality, but I believe they can control it. I don't think the 'guy' should ask others for opinions on this topic, cuz really it's the guy that knows the girl, and he should know whether he should put an end to it. Others does not know. Others only speak based on the informations above. And the info above doesnt 100% describe the girl, right?

Tell your "friend" to break up with her. It's not that easy for her to change, because it looks like she doesn't feel that much for that guy, enough to make herself change. That happened to me... She couldn't change, I dumped her.
