Is There a Point in Dating?

I know I'm only 13, and as of now, I'm in my first relationship, with my best friend. But, a lot of thinking has gone through the week and I was wondering, is there a point to date? At a young age like mine, it's not like me and her will ever get married, so obviously we'll break up, so is there a point to dating? We both "like" each other a lot, and it's all fun and stuff, but i wonder if it's all naive child's play. Even at 16, is there a point to date? Few people who date in there soft-more year rarely marry each other, and it seems like dating is only to test out others for marriage. So dating would probably be best suited for 18+, like everything else in the world. x_x So basil, tell me. Why do we develop feelings at a young age, and are they really real? What's the point?

I'm 13 too =D, anyways, um just dont try to be "too" cool and don't be extremely uncomfortable. It's fine, she'll be your friend no matter what happens, you have nothing to lose.

Me and her promised no matter what happened, we'd always be tight buddies. Plus, we don't really act like we're dating, we're just closer then normal.
