Red Surf Board and Zedbug DPM and DPS

Which would be better in DPS and DPM? A 111atk 6Str Red Surfboard or 120 atk 11 str Zedbug?

They sound equal to me. MAYBE the red surfboard has better dps/dpm but id say they are very close

Damage per strike would be the zedbug, DPM is currently on-obtainable however we can infer that the surfboards speed should overcome the power difference, [however you need to list some other things i.e. your common att setup (every other att increasing thing, equips, BoF, combo, pots whatever)]

^ I'm quite sure they meant Damage per Second . Don't know why one would ask for both minute/second, it's not like the result changes. Going by speed difference alone, they're even, but if you take into account Combo Critical and whatnot, I would go in favour of the Surfboard.

[/quote] Because the speed diff of both equips shows a bigger discrepancy when given the length of time of a minute rather than just a second.

The result doesn't magically change between DPS and DPM. If a weapon has a superior DPS, odds are it has a superior DPM too, by the exact same percentage, barring a small margin of error.

Some skills (although not for aran)have cooldowns, some skills require combos, you need combos to make crits and high damage. You don't get 100 combos in a second. You don't even do an entire triple swing in a second.

The board will have a better DPM. You build up your combo faster. The faster the weapon, the more I enjoy it.

It'd be silly to think that DPS is worked out by how much your character deals from 0 to 1 seconds. You're quite right, you can't even do a Triple Swing in that time. That's why DPS is usually calculated by dividing your DPM by 60. That way you can minimize fluctuations from things such as %-determined criticals and the initial Combo buildup.

My current set-up is a 13 atk scg, the board, 9 str top clean, 8str bottom clean. 8 BOF, 8 str cape, ring, 12 atk war pot, avg zhelm, lack of shoes, and a yellow belt O.o

correct me if im wrong, but isnt Red surf board speed "slow" or the same speed as a zedbug? o.O if not, then go whit the surfboard

S> 125/15 red surfboard o.o *jacks ur thread* No, but the red surfboard would be superior. Speed is everything for an aran, and a +9 w.atk won't outdo that. Especially with the w.atk equips you listed above this comment. he more w.atk you get, the better the red surfboard is compared to the zedbug.

DPS is calculated from total damage dealt/ total time elapsed.
