Well, my mom finally caved and said that I will get a phone today. I don't know which one as It was so sudden. We're getting it in 30 minutes. Any ideas? I text a lot too ; ) Thanks

Considering it's your first phone and you're probably 11~13 years old, get a cheap contract with a free phone.

wow. i'm in a close situation too. i'm getting my first phone, but there's a plan discount where i work. i'm thinking of the getting one of the sliding phones with a qwordy keyboard. i like the looks of the LG phones, but i think i might have to get a certain company's for my discount to work =P.

Get a Sony Ericson, they're pretty awesome. Sony Ericsons or Nokias are pretty easy to use so they're good for first phones.

[/quote] It's qwerty keyboard not qwordy keyboard. It stands for qwerty as in the letter in the top row of a keyboard.

It seems to me like you shouldn't get too nice of a phone since your mom caved into you even getting one. Just a modest flip phone is a good way to start, and as your mom gets more and more used to phones, you can move up the ladder and eventually get an iPhone or something cool.
