When I enter a new thread, I get redirected now to a web page that I have to skip in order to get into the thread. I understand Mr Basil needs money, but really? This just does more harm than good. Who honestly wants to sift through so many advertisements in order to access a thread? This is the kind of thing you expect from junk sites who basically promote illegal content and are spammed with adverts. But basilmarket? This is just turning away more people.

How aren't you sounding hypocritical now when people make suggestions that exist on other forums and you say "Well basil isn't other forums". Now you use the same kind of logic to make this sound fair. All I'm suggesting is the obvious. No one wants to go through extra pages just to look at thread content.

[/quote] Basil's not a forum, your point is null. Basilmarket is first and foremost a Maplestory auctioning website. My point however, was that it's a common technique when users block ads. Want it changed? Increase revenue by not blocking ads, and encourage fellow basilers to do the same.

[/quote] Really, which is why the majority of viewership comes from the forums. And this advertisement applies to forums I haven't seen it on other pages. And at above, keeping this site alive is one thing. What Mr Basil is doing is killing this site. Why is it no coincidence that from the whole Meebo implementation (or just advertisement implementation in general) the value of basil dropped significantly?

If he wants to kill his site let him, I'm just giving what suggestions I think are good enough to keep the site up. But thanks for the generic non-chalant response. I definitely wouldn't classify this as complaining either.

Unless you want to pay for the hosting and other costs of the website out of your own pocket, you should probably stop complaining about it. The ads aren't intrusive, and there is even a button that let's you skip right over them.

No need to unblock ads.
