Hello basil. A years back i met this beautiful girl. At first i didnt really notice her at first but later i found out myself that i liked her. I thought it was infatuation at first but she slowly got into my head. Now, i still like her, i guess it isnt infatuation. Yet now i am still scared to ask her out. Not that im scared of her myself, but i fear rejection(yes, i admit it). I really do want to be with her, but its hard to confess to her due to my shyness. She already knows i like her though. And she doesnt ignore me or hate me. So basil: should i tell her? What if she says no? Im 16. We are both the same age. I need your support guys. Anyone tell me how did u confess to your now-girlfriend?

Well, there's probably going to be many risks in your life, and if you're going to be one of those shy guys then you're not going to accomplish much. You should just ask her, because if you don't ask her then you will never know how she feels about you. So yeah. I normally just the ask the girl straight up, after spending a few days or weeks talking to her.

In my experience, you can only ask her once. MAKE IT COUNT. Don't show nervousness, etc. Look confident. Anyway, I'm 16 as well and I met a beautiful girl when I moved into my new school. I became good friends with her within a month or two and we've been going out for quite a while now. Did it at a dance, when the slow song came on. My suggestion would be to become friends with her AT LEAST, if you haven't yet, considering that you've known her for years. If you're familiar with her you will be more confident. Though don't become her best friend or anything, because falling into the "friend zone" pretty much ensures 99% rejection. When you do ask her out, be lighthearted yet serious. Don't sound nervous, creepy (with overarching compliments on her like "I love the way your hair shines when I see you in class), or TOO serious.

Well, im kinda in a mental wreck now. Between school stress and her. I tried finding her after school on 2 days, both failed. And valentines day is tomorow, which unluckily crashes on chinese new year(we have to visit our relatives) and im already friends with her. I love making her laugh.

If you're not ready, you're not ready. Wait a little. After all, if you ask more than once she'll start viewing you as a clingy annoying guy. Also, TS, pick up any hints that she likes you back? Those are important.

DON'T DO IT MANG In person = shows that you're strong in confidence and character, and she'll be more likely to say yes.

You don't need to "confess" anything. Easiest way is to ask her to go out to get lunch, or a coffee, or a movie if you're unconfident on dates.

Don't be shy. just don't... There was this girl who thought my friend was cute and my friend thought she was cute and all that, too. I finally got my friend to ask the girl out after 3 weeks. (Yeah, he's shy) I was looking from afar and he was like looking down, all nervous and sh--. The girl had rejected him. o_O Feeling bad for my friend, I went up to that girl the next day and tried to talk to her. She just said she doesn't really like shy boys. o_O

Fearing rejection is the problem. What would make a person fear the word 'no'? Is it a strange word, one you're not used to hearing? Lookit, even the quote-unquote 'best' guys usually get rejected four out of five times, but the fifth one makes up for the last four. You're only 16. Eventually you'll realize that no matter how much you think you "love" this girl, there are plenty more out there just like her. Suck it up and tell her exactly what's on your mind. Women appreciate that, especially if you have an aura of confidence about you. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. You have thousands of days left in your life to try again.
