Well... for one thing, they're not all "big head, big eyes," and even the ones that are have some traces of being based off of Walt Disney's own stuff, anyway. Secondly, just 'cause the main population here is Asian doesn't mean they necessarily like anime. the fans hail from different races and such. And to answer the question, 'cause it's decent enough entertainment for them, just as random jokes that don't have anything to do with a story shows like Family Guy thrill the nation. It's just people liking cartoons from Japan. Get over it and yourself.

Because we do. I thought that was obvious? No offence in any way. Well, some may like anime and some don't. It's as simple as how we like things. Some people prefer realistic stuff, but some like to draw cartoons and some like to watch cartoons. There is enough room in the world for different types of people /end lecture :D lol.
