Believe it or not this idea is much better than the old fashion log in screen. For one it is easier to hack a account through the old log in screen. With this new one your pin (PIC) can be much longer and can have letter, numbers, and be CASE SENSATIVE ( epic win for keeping your account protected). So for everyone scared of being hacking fear not! ( Well unless someone is keylogging you through say your IP). But besides the downside of it being a start up from the website... nexon really can reach directly into maplestory easier as they claimed. Why do i know this? Go play combat arms another game by nexon. They already do this "start the game from the website" thing :P. So respect for the new log in screen ( even tho i quit hehe).

Basically, clicking on the MS icon on your desktop will open up an internet browser to the Nexon MapleStory website. (I don't know whether it will be internet explorer or whatever is your current default - I hope they let us use Firefox -.-) Then, from the site, you can click start or whatever they're going to have as the start button. Internet will close, and MS starts up. You go to the login screen, as before, except now with a PIC instead of PIN*. It's the same thing, except now they're advertising themselves, that's all. *What's the point in renaming it to PIC? PIN = Personal Identification Number PIC = Personal Identification Code O_o

You have to login to the website before you can start MapleStory from it, just as you do in combat arms.

So is the entering format still an onscreen keyboard? Otherwise, it would be much easier to hack someone's account. Also, I see no difference - people could simply request PIC resets from your email (which they hacked into by, say, a keylogger) instead of PIN resets.

If it's anything as in KMS, where you are also allowed to type in your PIC from your keyboard, then it's safe to say this could be more of a threat as to people obtaining PIC. As for launching the game from the website, I think I heard someone say the use of cookies.

Uh. You guys dont make much sense. Inputting your PW into a website which is ENCRYPTED is the same as logging in for your email, facebook, bank accounts, and paypal. If it really was not secure, why do so many companies do it korea? You guys are all just falling for the hysteria around GMS.

What about those hackers out there just needing someone's pin? Couldn't they just assign a PIC before the owner gets to assign one for themselves? Also on combat arms you can log on the old way by clicking on CombatArms_Direct.exe file in your CA folder. Lets hope nexon allows us to do the same..

Wtf is keylog through IP LOL... I love how the general consensus is someone has your IP Address = you screwed. You give away your local IP every time you request anything on any website...
