Online Relationships

What are your views on online relationships? Personally I don't see how they're any different than a long distance relationship, I've had an online girlfriend for the last 4 months and we love each other and have intentions of meeting one day.

It's hardly real. If you're all for bringing it to reality and move from then onwards, all is good. It has its up and down sides, but if you don't bring the relationship out of your head, it's hardly anything more than a mere fantasy.

Pseudo Relationships. It's easy to love someone and to say it's going easy when you're not forced to put any real effort into the relationship. Because when the only thing personal about it, is being able to Webcam and talking on Maplestory, well. Silly people, real efforts are for real relationships. It's cute though, in an offbeat kind of way. Also, love in 4 months. Heh. Infatuation maybe.

Love after 4 months? I think not. Online relationships, as Telatsu said, are pseudo relationships. He's right; the difference in effort levels is ridiculous.

I'm not for, nor against them. I find them pointless TO ME, but if it works for others then by all means go for it. Edit : I also doubt that you "love" her.

Been in one for almost 2 years before, it worked fine until the end so I would have to say that they're good and essentially like any other "real life" relationship, but you must not forget that physical contact (not the intimate type, but just being able to hold that significant other) is important.

[/quote] many some lasted a fair while, others didn't. it's not like i didn't take them seriously and it's not like i'm just basing my own thoughts on bad experiences because my long-distance relationship phase ended about 3 years ago, and after that i just thought they were completely stupid and pointless. i rationalized and took more of a neutral stance against them, but i still don't encourage them in any instance.
